Tips + Tools
Here are some of our favorite fundraising tips that can help you reach your goal.
Tip #1: Email — And Then Email Again
Whether you use your personal email account or your Participant Center, make sure to email your friends, family and colleagues asking them to support your efforts. Make your message personal by sharing why you’re participating and what the Holt Brothers Foundation and giving back means to you.
Don’t be afraid to send more than one email. People are busy and don’t always have a chance to respond to your first appeal, so a reminder is often helpful.
Tip #2: Write It Down (On Paper)
Stand out from the crowd by sending a handwritten note or letter. Make sure to include a donation form and a stamped, addressed envelope to make it easy for people to give. You could even include a photo of your team or you practicing your game day face.
Tip #3: Get Social
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn are the perfect place to share your tournament experience with your peeps. Post some pictures of your game day prep and always be sure to include a link to your Participant Center page to show others that you’re training hard for this. Make sure to include the hashtag #HoltBrothersFootball to connect with other players and add your voice to the Holt Brothers Foundation cause.
Tip #4: Get Creative
Use your own creativity to come up with fundraising ideas that work for you. You could even start an office fundraising challenge to stir up some healthy competition among your colleagues. If something is working particularly well, email us! We’re always eager to hear and share new ideas.
Tip #5: Don’t Forget to Say Thanks
Most importantly, make sure you thank people when they donate. The Participant Center automatically sends your donors a thank you email when they give online. However, it’s always a good idea to personally thank each person who donates by sending them an email, calling them or giving them a shout-out on social media.
