The Holt Brothers Bank of America Bowl Flag Football Tournament is a corporate team-building event that benefits the Holt Brothers Foundation. It includes 24 teams going head to head in exciting flag football matchups. The second annual event takes place on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at NC State’s Close-King Indoor Practice Facility + Dail Outdoor Practice Facility.

Who runs the Holt Brothers Flag Football Tournament?

The Holt Brothers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports children who have a parent with cancer.

Why Flag Football?

Torry and Terrence Holt, founders of the Holt Brothers Foundation, were NC State football stars who went on to successful careers in the National Football League. A flag football tournament benefitting the foundation is something they’ve wanted to do for a long time — it combines giving back AND football.

Who is on a team?

If you’ve signed on as a corporate team, you can include men and women from your workplace, clients and partners. You have a total of 15 spots to fill. You’ll also need a team captain, who will attend two informational events – one on April 19th at 4 PM at the Carolina Ale House on Glenwood Avenue, the other on May 19th at the same location at 4 PM. Team captains are responsible for calling practices, overseeing team activities and making sure their team plays by the rules.

What is a “virtual player” and how can that person be involved?

A “virtual player” is someone who can’t participate in person on game day, but who wants to fundraise. Think of it as our take on fantasy football. Anyone can become a virtual player to help children who have a parent with cancer and be part of the tournament.

When does the tournament start and end?

Registration starts at 7:30 AM and the tournament begins at 9 AM. The day wraps up at 6:30 PM when the winners will be announced and we will celebrate with a Player's Party. For additional information and exact times, visit Event Details.

Our Lunch Sponsor, the Carolina Ale House, will provide lunch for players and volunteers. The Foundation will also provide soda and water during the day, and beer during the tailgate. Teams who want to set up a tailgate can bring food and beverages of their choice.

Is my donation tax deductible?

The Holt Brothers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your donation to a team / individual will qualify as a charitable contribution tax deduction. However, we always recommend that you consult your tax advisor for details.
